Paralegal Programs in the U.S.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics predicts that the paralegal job market is increasing 36 percent or more. In fact, the paralegal profession is expected to rank among the 20 fastest growing occupations in the economy through the year 2006, as they increasingly perform many legal tasks formerly carried out by lawyers.

While some paralegals train on the job, employers increasingly prefer graduates of postsecondary paralegal education programs, especially graduates of 4-year paralegal programs or college graduates who have completed paralegal training.
